    About Our Staff Accountant:                       

    The Staff Accountant will work in the general ledger, assist with the preparation of the statutory financial statements and state regulatory filings, support the insurance company audit, and prepare ad hoc analysis as needed.  He or she reports to the Statutory Accounting Manager within the Finance department.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Produce monthly accounting journal entries on an IFRS and Statutory basis
    • Assist in the preparation of the Statutory Yellow Book and Quarterly Statements
    • Prepare monthly account reconciliations
    • Assist with reinsurance accounting and monthly settlement reports
    • Assist with the annual IFRS and Statutory audits
    • Prepare state required regulatory filings
    • Prepare state premium tax filings
    • Ad-hoc projects and miscellaneous responsibilities as assigned


    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA preferred
    • Two to three years of accounting experience / public accounting experience a plus
    • Statutory accounting experience preferred
    • Strong competencies in Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel
    • Knowledge of SAGE 500 and Microstrategy(not a requirement, but preferred)
    • Attention to detail and accuracy
    • Must possess great problem solving skills
    • Excellent communication skills and the ability to learn new concepts quickly
    • Demonstrates persistence, overcomes obstacles, and strives to improve skills and achieve goals
    • Motivated, enthusiastic and a self-starter
