    About Our Senior Accountant:                   

    The Senior Accountant will work in the general ledger, assist with the preparation of financial statements, support the insurance company audit, and prepare ad hoc analysis as needed.  They report to the Accounting Manager within the Finance department. The ideal candidate will have an eye for detail, a logical approach to problem-solving, excellent analytical abilities, effective communication skills and great time-management abilities.  The role provides the opportunity to learn and build accounting processes and procedures, grow in your knowledge and responsibilities, and work cross-functionally with colleagues around the business.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Produce or review, daily, monthly, quarterly and annual accounting journal entries
    • Assist in the preparation of internal financial statements
    • Direct the company to ensure compliance with accounting guidance throughout the year
    • Prepare or review account reconciliations; performed monthly
    • Complete Fixed Asset and Lease accounting in compliance with accounting guidance
    • Provide guidance and assistance to other members of staff
    • Identify and drive process improvements
    • Ad-hoc projects and miscellaneous responsibilities as assigned


    Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
    • At least four years of accounting experience
    • Strong competencies in Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel
    • Attention to detail and accuracy
    • Must possess great problem solving skills
    • Excellent communication skills and the ability to learn new concepts quickly
    • Demonstrates persistence, overcomes obstacles, and strives to improve skills and achieve goals
    • Motivated, enthusiastic and a self-starter

    Preferred Qualifications:              

    • CPA
    • Public accounting experience
    • Insurance industry accounting experience

    Workplace Qualifications:

    • Ability to work on a computer for a full workday
    • Ability to type on a keyboard
    • Ability to sit at a desk for a full workday
